EQUINOX 2012--NOVELLA NEWS

Posted on March 20, 2012
Although we had hail the other day, and snow yesterday, the crocuses and cherry blossoms are out all over the city. My clematis vines are sending out shoots, and even a couple brave buds have formed already.
The Equinox always brings to the forefront thoughts of balance, which brings to mind my latest novella, "The Last Letter". If you don't have yours yet, check out Aqueductpress.com, Amazon, or weightlessbooks.com. Both e-books and print are available.
Lots of you have been asking what I'm working on now. I just finished a new novella set in England, and will begin work on a novel later this month.
On other fronts, I've recently discovered the music of Anna Ternheim, a Swedish singer-songwriter who writes thoughtful stuff, predominantly in English. Judy Collins meets Suzanne Vega, IMO. If you ever get the chance to see her live, don't miss it.
Thanks for your notes--always nice to hear from you--and Happy Equinox!

HAPPY SOLSTICE, and LEHN'S BEST OF 2011

Posted on December 19, 2011
Solstice is almost here, and that means...yep you guessed it, the sun's return! (I can't wait!)
It also means we'll soon be ushering in a new year and saying farewell to 2011. Aqueduct Press has a great end-of-year tradition and invited me (along with several other Aqueduct amblers!) to take part this year by posting my favourite 2011 viewing, reading, and otherwise artful experiences. For a series of 2011 goodies that you may have missed (but can still enjoy in the new year), check out their blog: http://aqueductpress.blogspot.com/2011/12/pleasures-of-reading-viewing-and_19.html.
Until next time, may you keep warm, and keep on dancing!

Just a quick note to let you all know that my second novella, The Last Letter, has now been published as an ebook! You can find it on http://www.amazon.com in the kindle store area, and at http://www.weightlessbooks.com. Enjoy!

Hi Folks,
I've been lagging on the website updates, eh? Well, it's a long story. I'll abridge: I went to Taos Toolbox for a fabulous 2-week master writing workshop in July. We hadn't had much of a summer in Vancouver up until that point, and towards the end of the month, I went hiking on the most beautiful summer day imaginable, and somehow managed to break my ankle! The last three months are a blur of pain, swelling, crutching, couch potato-ing, Handy Darting, and somehow dayjobbing in the midst of all that. I'm sorta walking now, and I've begun writing again. And hey—my new novella, "The Last Letter", is coming out next week! You can find it at http://www.aqueductpress.com. I'm told it will be available at amazon.com too. Enjoy!

novella being published!

Posted on April 17, 2011
Hi Everyone,
Good news--My second science fiction novella is to be published by Aqueduct Press! I've been working on this novella, off and on, for over 3 years, and Aqueduct was my first choice of publisher, so this is a huge thrill. When I know the release date and distribution outlets, I'll let you know. All the best!--f/
